Kangra

One of the most scenic valleys in the lower Himalayas is the Kangra valley. Nestled and sheltered at the base of the majestic Dhauladhar range, the valley is verdant and lush. Whereas Dharamshala is full of Buddhist air, Kangra boasts the wonders of the ancient Hindu Temples like Bajreshwari Devi, Chamunda Devi, Baijnath Shiv temple and Jwala Devi ji along the country side.

Kangra

The Vedic times of more than 3500 years ago saw the beginning of the Kangra valley. From there it has sojourned through many invasions and conquests, the last of those being the British domination over the princes of these small hill states. Despite or maybe because of the political turmoil and the various forms of upheavals through the years, the artists and artisans of the area continue to be inspired in their expressions through their arts and crafts. International recognition and appreciation has been given to designs such as those found in the exquisitely crafted shawls and miniature paintings that come from this region.
