The city of Aurangabad was founded by Malik Ambar in 1610. The city got its current name in the year 1653 the same time that the ruler there named Aurangzeb named it the capital of the Deccan Empire. This is a city that has seen several dynasties rise and fall each with its own culture. The City is near other small historic towns such as Khultabad, Pitalkore and Paithan. There is also a 50,000 years old crater here that you will not want to miss seeing. This City got its name from the ruler called Aurangzeb but formerly it was called Khadke.

Aurangabad - Ajanta & Ellora Caves

Day 01: Arrival Aurangabad
You will arrive at the City at the railway station or the airport depending on your preferred means of transportation and then will be assisted with your luggage to book a hotel where you will stay.

Day 02: Aurangabad-Ajanta
On your second day of Aurangabad visit you will visit Ajanta which consists of 24 monasteries and five temples that are hewn out of solid rock really an amazing spectacle! You will also be amazed with the wall painting inside the caves.

Day 03: Aurangabad-Ellora
Your third day of Aurangabad visit you will really find your visit fun filled and exiting. A visit to the Ellora will be an awesome event for you; there are caves here that are over 2000 years old. You will also be able to see several temples and monasteries hewn from the rock by Buddhist, Hindu, and also Jain monks and craftsmen. At the end of your visit to this amazing place the choice will be for you to choose your means of transport either by rail or by air.
