Mahahalipuram sometime referred to as Mamallapuram was the port city of the Pallava dynasty. It remains a popular beach resort and culture-front tourist destination. Most tourists who come here form different parts of the world are often attracted by the culture and traditions of the place. This popular beach town features many ancient monuments, sculptures, caves, monoliths-temples & beaches. You will also find a crocodile farm here, a snake venom extraction center, schools of art and sculpture and so much more. There is also a popular fete which is actually a dance festival that is held here every January of each year. 

Mahabalipuram - The Shore Temple

Day 01: Arrival Chennai-Mahabalipuram
Day one marks your arrival in Chennai where you will be picked up from Chennai railway station or airport and then be transferred to your Hotel in Radisson Temple Bay for your two night stay at Mahahalipuram.

Day 02: Mahabalipuram- Sightseeing
On your second stay in Mahabalipuram you will want to proceed to a full day sightseeing of Kanchipuram and Mahahalipuram. Kanchipuram is known as the "Golden City of a Thousand Temples". This is one of India’s sacred cities. Here you will see early styles of temple architecture. A visit to Ekamhareshwar Temple, Kailasnath Temple and Varadaraja Temple will even excite you more. Drive from Kanchipuram to Mahabalipuram to see sculptures and temples of typical South Indian architectural designs; the Rathas - a group of monolithic monuments of animal figures carved out of solid rock; the Shore Temple, lashed by the waves of the sea. Later at night you will go back to your hotel room in Mahahalipuram

Day 03: Mahabalipuram-Chennai Departure
The third day marks your Mahabalipuram-Chennai Departure where you will transfer to Chennai railway station or airport depending on your preferred means of travel for your onward Indian journey.
