Ladakh Odyssey

Day 1: Leh
Experience one of the Most Sensational Flights in The World on your journey to Leh Kushok Bakula Airport. On a clear day the view from both sides of the aircraft is spectacular. On one side, in the distance, the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum are breathtaking while on the other side of the aircraft, so close that it appears touchable, is the Nun Kun Massif. A representative from the tour will meet you on disembarking from the aircraft and will u to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day can be used for rest and relaxation to properly acclimatize followed by Welcome tea or Coffee at the Hotel.
There is an evening visit planned to Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and Leh Market. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 2: Excursion to the Monasteries (One Way Journey of 50 kms in approx. 2 hours)
Day 2 begins with a journey to the Indus Valley Monastery following breakfast. We’ll begin at Hemis Gompa which is the largest monastery foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. We’ll hen proceed to Thiksey Monastery an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village, Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh, 3 Idiots Rancho School, made famous by a movie of the same name, and Sindhu Ghat, one of the seven most sacred rivers in India. The return to Leh will lead to an evening of personal leisure to explore the city on your own. Dinner and the overnight stay will be accomplished at the hotel in Leh.

Day 3: Excursion To Pangong Lake (One Way trip of 140 kms in approx. 4 - 5 hours)
Pangong Lake which is at an altitude of 14,000 ft is accessible through Changla Pass (5486 mtrs). This journey will be taken directly following breakfast. The long winding roads to Changla pass passes through Sakti Village. There is a chance for a brief photographic session with a quick drive down to the village of Tangtse for a relaxing cup of tea. There are a few small villages of Changthang on the way from Tangtse to Pangong preceding a sudden view of the Pangong Lake situated at 4,267 mtrs (14,000 ft). This lake is well known for its briny, black traits. It is 5 or 6kms wide and over 133kms in length and runs along the "Indo China Border." The scenery is majestic and inspires closeness to nature. The success of 3 Idiots (the movie), has spawned even more frequent visits from tourists from all over the world. After concluding this visit, we drive back to Leh in the late afternoon where dinner and the overnight stay will be at the hotel in Leh.

Day 4: Excursion To Khardungla Top - (One Way Journey of 39 Kms in approx. 2 hours)
Following breakfast we drive to Khardung La. Khardung La is the Highest Road in The World that is accessible to motor vehicles and stands at an altitude of 5,602 mtrs (18,390 ft). Khardung La is about 39 km from Leh. From the pass it is possible to see all the way south over the Indus valley to the undulating peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif.
The views from the top of the pass are amazing. We will return to the hotel in Leh in time for lunch. Last minute souvenir shopping is possible on this, the final evening of the tour. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Depart
Tour concludes. We would like to thank you for your patronage and we will ensure a punctual transfer to the Domestic Airport to catch the flight for your continued journey.
